Did You Know: Your AIS Chassis Isn’t Done Growing
September 8, 2026Behind the Build:
Two Months Later - Our Turnkey O-Ring Installation Cell Update.
A quick refresher on what this cell does
Two months ago we showed you a rough steel frame and the start of a control board. Then we went quiet and got to work.
The new video picks up where that one left off. It opens with a sped-up replay of the first clip, then moves through stills and flyby shots from the past few weeks, and finishes with fresh footage of the cell as it stands today.
This is a turnkey, fully automated o-ring installation cell we're building for a customer. A parts feeder bowl supplies a SCARA robot, and the robot delivers parts to an AIS o-ring installation machine. A fiber optic sensor then verifies that the o-ring is seated, and the system sorts the part based on the result. The operator loads parts in one bowl, o-rings in the other, and turns it on.
What changed
-
The frame is painted. It started as bare steel and now looks like it belongs on a production floor.
-
The parts feeder is ready.
-
The SCARA robot is mounted.
-
The base of an ASP-1 o-ring installation machine is in place.
-
Wires now run out of the control box, which is a big step up from the wiring we showed two months ago.
-
A diverter chute is installed to route parts after installation and inspection.
That list is the difference between a plan and a machine. Don’t worry we'll keep documenting the build as it goes.
Why we keep showing the in-between
Turnkey automation is something AIS builds, and the middle of a build rarely gets shown. Most case studies jump from a quote to a finished photo. The middle is where the engineering happens, so we're filming it.
Next up is more build footage, followed by a full breakdown once the cell is finished. If you'd rather not integrate a seal installation process yourself, you can talk to our team or read about our automatic systems.
