Turnkey O-Ring Installation Cell Is Taking Shape
August 31, 2026Did You Know?
Your ASP Chassis Isn't Done Growing.
Buy a machine
Most manufacturers expect you to live with whatever it did on day one. AIS runs differently. The ASP series chassis is built to keep pace with your parts, not the other way around, and a lot of that flexibility comes down to one component: the head assembly.

Sometimes the fix is small
The same o-ring needs to land in a different spot, or on a part that's a close cousin to what you're already running. That can be as simple as a newly engineered mandrel dropped into the head assembly you already own. No new machine, no new footprint, just a different piece of tooling doing a slightly different job.
Sometimes the difference is bigger
New seal size, new geometry, enough of a change that a mandrel swap won't cover it. That's when you're looking at a full new head assembly, discharge chute and magazine included, built around what your part actually needs instead of what the old one needed. We've done exactly this, see the dual-head ASP-1 build that runs two complete head assemblies to handle different o-ring sizes on opposite ends of the same part.

Sometimes it goes further than the head
New or modified tooling in the feeder bowl gets your machine handling parts it was never originally set up for.
This is exactly why AIS customers keep showing up with machines running five head assemblies for one part family, and why an ASP-2 that had been running the same part for years didn't get replaced when that part changed. It got refitted. The chassis can outlast the job it was bought for.
Want to see a head and mandrel swap happen in real time? Here's the changeover in under 10 minutes.
If your part has changed and your machine hasn't, that's not a "buy new equipment" problem. It's a "call AIS and ask what the head assembly needs" problem.
