Where We Came From

FOUNDED IN 1977

Located in Erie, PA, Automated Industrial Systems, Inc. (AIS) was founded in 1977 as a manufacturer of custom assembly machines. In 1978, we built our first O-Ring Installation Machine. Since then we have manufactured systems that are being utilized all over the world.

Through the employment of our in-house technical sales staff and our factory-trained manufacturer's representatives, AIS will work with you to recommend the proper equipment for your application.

AIS has a fully staffed engineering department with mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineers providing us with the ability to custom design equipment in response to customer requirements. Our engineers will work closely with you to provide a system tailored specifically to your application.

AIS also maintains complete machining and fabrication services through our in-house machine shop as well as qualified vendors. The quality of machined and fabricated parts is controlled through standard SPC and vendor qualification and auditing procedures. Every part is 100% inspected to engineering prints before being released to assembly.

AIS's assembly floor utilizes a work cell format to provide efficient and consistent manufacturing of our products. Our mechanical and electrical assemblers and our electronic technicians pride themselves on producing a reliable, quality machine every time.

Upon completion, every machine is subjected to final inspection. Each is thoroughly tested for compliance to design specifications and our manufacturing standards. We also encourage our customers to come to our facility for training and final approval of the equipment prior to shipment. This training is provided at no additional charge.

AIS continues with its customer oriented approach with our service and spare parts department to support you once your equipment has been delivered. We pride ourselves on our superior customer service.

As you can see, the customer is the driving force behind AIS. Every employee is dedicated to showing our customer why the ASP O-Ring Installation Machine is the leader in seal installation technology.

What our clients have to say...

If you are thinking about getting one of these O-ring machines from AIS, STOP, just do it. We received our O-ring machine from AIS in mid-March of 2023. To say this thing is amazing would be an understatement.

When we put in our purchase request to corporate, we had to estimate the cycle time since we were going to be installing 2 O-rings per part on most of the parts that we got heads for. We had to research You Tube videos to try and get a cycle time that was close to what we would be doing. I am telling you we were way off. We estimated that we would get about 1200 cycles per hour we are constantly between 1600-1800 cycles per hour. We refer to our O-ring machine as the Ferrari of the secondary area. We used to load O-ring poles with about 100 O-rings and install them by hand. We eliminated the pole loading all together and increased though put.

Change overs of the O-ring machine are fast and easy. It takes more time to get the O-rings out of the bowl feeder, if you overload it coming up to a change over, than it does swap out the head and mandrel.

Working with AIS is super easy and fun. If they think something will work better, they will suggest what they think you could do. I have had several conversations with the team at AIS and it is like calling up an old friend and shooting the breeze.
